On Taking Risks part III

This has been a year of taking risks, for me.  I have not written about my decision to start dating again after a long break.  I'm not going to blog in detail about dating... Much as I put myself out there in many ways, it feels too private.  But I am writing this blog post about the RISK of dating.  Because I've been thinking about it a lot lately.  There is always risk involved when you decide you are willing, even in principle, to let someone into your life.  There is risk of being hurt.  But I think getting hurt is not the biggest tragedy that can happen. Failing to learn - that would be the tragedy.

May I ask if the decision to date again was made after meeting someone you wanted to date?

All relationships... even those that last a lifetime... end in loss. Taking a buddhist perspective, the impermanence of love suggests that we should give it our attention here and now.

at Zoom - I made the decision to be open to dating again, and shortly after met someone I wanted to date...
